Well, in my experience, cheapy cheap hair straighteners never straightened my hair the way i'd like it too. I bought a chi(about $100) in Ulta and it worked nicely for me. You can go to folica.com, they usually sell hair tools cheaper.

Ti Creative Styling is a pretty good hair straightener but it's kinda pricey.
