I am going for a trim/re-style this weekend and when they said about a cut and blow dry, I said I didn't want it blow dried. They said that they could put me under a dryer instead because the heat is more gentle.

Is this true? And my other question is - do they always have to curl your hair when you go under a salon hood hair dryers or can they just dry it normal under a dryer?

they can dry it normal, those salon hood hair dryers are old school.
